Artist FRANK HYDER has participated in more than 150 group shows and has had over 80 solo exhibitions throughout North, South and Central America, including eight individual exhibitions in New York City. His studio practice comprises a variety of mediums, and he is also co-director of Projects Gallery (with Helen Meyrick) in Philadelphia.
He received powerful artistic instruction from the age of five. In college he studied under powerful instructors, Neil Welliver and Alex Katz. In this audio commentary with QRartguide producer, George Fishman, Hyder describes the influences of these men on his formation and the process of arriving “in a space of my own.”

Frank’s commissioned work for Oceania’s cruise ship, the Riviera, presented challenges that he describes in this audio commentary.
These audio “back stories” are delivered via QR code in his catalog. Engraved as small plaques, they could also serve the audio to passengers through their mobile devices.
